Jean Mitchell Fergusson (born 30th December 1944 in Wakefield, died 14th November 2019 in Wandsworth, London) appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- Helen Ashcroft, sister of Joan Lowther, who appeared between November and December 1987
- Mrs Mallett, mother of Gary and Shane, appearing in October 1999
- Dorothy Hoyle, mother of the late Charlotte, who appeared intermittently between December 2010 and October 2011.
Best remembered for her role of Marina in Last of the Summer Wine, which she portrayed for twenty-five years from 1985 until the programme's cancellation in 2010, her other credits included roles in Crossroads, All Creatures Great and Small, A Woman of Substance, The Practice, Albion Market, Lipstick on Your Collar, Peak Practice, Doctors, This Is England '86 and the 2012 film Run for Your Wife.
On stage, she appeared in productions of The Little Foxes, Hobson's Choice, The Lion in Winter, The Rivals, Winnie-The-Pooh, A Bedfull of Foreigners, Nutcracker Sweet, Gaslight, When We Are Married, Cash on Delivery, She Knows You Know! and Two Into One.
