Janie Booth (born 7th April 1941 in London) appeared on Coronation Street as Mrs Gillen, proprietor of the bed and breakfast establishment where Pat Phelan booked in to recuperate in April 2018.
In an acting career dating back to the early-1960s, her television credits include roles in Amelia, Meet the Wife, The Old Campaigner, The Wednesday Play, His and Hers, General Hospital, Nanny, All in Good Faith, The Bill, Torchwood, Silent Witness and Witless.
On the bigger screen she appeared in the feature films Othello, Personal Services and The Brothers Grimsby, along with the short films The Crossing, Cockroach, Hell's Pavement, Rufus Stone, Happy Birthday, Home and Blue Door.
Theatre credits include productions of The Pope's Wedding, Private Lives, Kennedy's Children, Blythe Spirit, Sisterly Feelings, Glorious, In Your Hands, The Lady of Larkspur, Captain Oates Left Sock, Love on the Dole and An Inspector Calls.
