James Peter Midgley (born August 1974 in Bradford) appeared on Coronation Street in four roles, three of which in law enforcement:
- PC Harper, who arrested a drunken Curly Watts in December 2000
- DC Roundsmith, assigned to the investigation of the robbery at 5 Grasmere Drive in June 2009
- DS Smith who between November and December of the same year, investigated the allegations of Tony Gordon's involvement in the murder of Liam Connor.
- Businessman Richie O'Driscoll, owner of O'Driscolls clothing company, who had dealings with the management of Underworld between December 2015 and February 2016.
He graduated from the Arden School of Theatre, Manchester in 1998.
His other credits include roles in Cold Feet, Heartbeat, North Square, Always and Everyone, Emmerdale, Cutting It, Donovan, The Bill, Northern Lights, Casualty, The Syndicate, Dark Secrets and Ackley Bridge.
He is the CEO and founder of social video advertising agency, Socialbox Ltd, and is married to the TV presenter, Jenni Falconer.
