James Edward Fleet (born 1st January 1954 in Staffordshire) appeared on Coronation Street between May and June 2010 as Robbie Sloane, a former soldier who shared a cell in Highfield Prison with Tony Gordon.

Moving to Aberdeenshire at the age of ten following the death of his father, he initially studied engineering at the University of Aberdeen and joined the university's dramatic society. He then trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow.

Other TV and film credits include roles in The Omega Factor, Grange Hill, Dempsey and Makepeace, Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Boon, The Bill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Murder Most Horrid, Cracker, Sense and Sensibility, Underworld, Kevin & Perry Go Large, Murder in Suburbia, Monarch of the Glen, The Vicar of Dibley, Skins, Being Human, Lewis and Big Bad World, whilst on stage he has appeared in productions including Habeas Corpus, In the Club, Festen, Mary Stuart, Twelfth Night, The Heretic and The Ladykillers.

He is married to actress Jane Booker (who appeared in the programme during May 1996 as barrister Mrs Hall) and the couple live in Oxfordshire with their son, Hamish.
