Jack Isaacs was a regular customer of the Canal Garage. His fleet of three vans, used for an unspecified purpose, could only be taken off the road for MOT's during the Christmas period and he duly asked Alan Howard to carry this procedure out in December 1971. This interfered with Elsie Howard's plans to book them into the Fylde Castle Hotel in Blackpool for a Christmas break. Not understanding Alan's needs to keep his best customer on the books, she rowed with him over the broken arrangement.
