Indira Joshi (born 2nd March 1942 in Sagaing, Myanmar) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly between April 2000 and August 2000 as Maya Desai, the aunt of Nita and Vikram Desai and Dev Alahan; and she returned to the programme between February 2010 and June 2011 as Grishma - ironically, a great aunt of Dev's wife, Sunita.

Best known for her roles of Madhuri Kumar in The Kumars at No. 42 and Mariam Ahmed in EastEnders, her other television credits include roles in A Family Affair, Inside Out, Gruey, Doctors, Grease Monkeys, Holby City, Life Isn't All Ha Ha Hee Hee, The Indian Doctor, The Life and Adventures of Nick Nickleby, Bliss, Life and Unforgotten.

Film roles include Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, Weak at Denise, L'entente cordiale, The Blue Tower and Everywhere and Nowhere.

On stage, she appeared in a 2002 production of Romeo and Juliet for the Birmingham Stage Co.
