Ian Barritt (born 1944 in Burnley) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as P.C. Wilkinson, who happened upon Bernard Butler and Ray Langton in January 1970; and he returned to the programme as Mr. Forshaw, referee of a women's sponsored swim at Mason Street Baths in September 1973.
His other credits include roles in Flesh and Blood, Minder, Big Deal, The Bill, The Buddha of Suburbia, Doctors and Upstairs Downstairs.
On stage, he appeared in productions of The Merry Wives of Windsor, Henry IV (Part I), The Tempest, Camille, Richard III, Julius Caesar, The Revenger's Tragedy, The Churchill Play, The New Inn a Bill Kenwright production of Jane Eyre, Coriolanus, Richard II, Troilus and Cressida, The Alchemist, Othello, The Lower Depths and Handbagged.
