Iain Jones (born in Stalybridge) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly between May 1983 and March 1985 as Kabin paperboy Dean Matthews; and he returned to the programme in September 2002 as jockey Mickey Edwards.
He graduated from Bretton Hall with a BA (Hons) Drama, First Class in 1992.
His other credits include roles in Nanny, Harry, Grease Monkeys, The Bill and Doctors, along with the short film War Game and the 2001 feature film A Christmas Carol.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Fur Coat and No Knickers, As You Like It, Bring Me Sunshine, Dealer's Choice, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice and An Evening With Gary Lineker.
On the other side of the camera, he worked as a director - mainly with young actors, and also worked as a freelance Associate Artist for the Shakespeare School's Festival.
