ITV1 HD is a free-to-air high-definition television channel operated by ITV plc.

It was initially launched as ITV HD, from 9th June to 30th November 2006 on a trial basis, both on cable and 450 selected test homes in London, primarily showing World Cup games, films, documentaries and dramas, though not Coronation Street. A second launch took place on 7th June 2008, exclusively on Freesat, and a third with the services rebranded as "ITV1 HD" on Freeview on 2nd December 2009.

It become a standard channel on 2nd April 2010, simulcasting the main ITV1 channel, and launching on Sky and Virgin Media. This time, Coronation Street was included, starting from Episode 7307 (2nd April 2010), though as the programme was still being recorded in standard definition, it was broadcast as an "upscaled" picture, however test transmissions by this method had also been taking place in the Granada region since August 2009.

Coronation Street 's first recorded high definition episode was Episode 7351 (31st May 2010) which also utilised a new title sequence to take advantage of the new technology.

ITV chose not to amalgamate their viewing figures from this channel with the main channel until May 2016, and Episode 8911 (23rd May 2016) was the first episode of Coronation Street to have combined numbers.

The channel was again renamed "ITV1 HD" on 15th November 2022.
