Hayley Jayne Standing (born 1979 in Colne, Lancashire) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in October 2010 as Mrs Withers, who along with her husband, were prospective buyers of 13 Coronation Street; and she returned to the programme in September 2021 as Maeve Dagnall, a difficult customer at Speed Daal.
A former pupil of Fisher More RC School, she was a member of Colne Operatic Society, Pendle Hippodrome's Youth Theatre and Burnley Youth Theatre prior to graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2001 with a BA in Drama.
Her other credits include roles in Dalziel and Pascoe, Doctors, My Dad's the Prime Minister, The Bill, Heartbeat, Home Time, Hotel Trubble, White Van Man, New Tricks, Great Night Out, Quick Cuts, Mount Pleasant, Give Out Girls, Hank Zipzer, Downton Abbey, I Want My Wife Back, Man Down and Housebound, along with the 2018 film Peterloo.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Dance of Death, The Recruiting Officer, Relative Values, The Winter's Tale, Troilus and Cressida, Top Girls, Taming the Tempest, And Did Those Feet, Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis, The Crucible, The Occupied Times, Dirty Laundry and Sitting, along with her self-penned production, Britain's Youngest Grandma, in which she played six different roles.
