Griff Reynolds was a far-right extremist who was convicted of terrorism offences in 2023 after grooming Max Turner.
Griff initially befriended Spider Nugent, unaware that he was secretly an undercover police officer intent on infiltrating his group and later introduced himself to Spider's girlfriend Toyah Habeeb and Peter Barlow. The foursome began engaging in demos and peaceful protests; however, Griff occasionally crossed boundaries such as when he assaulted police officer Craig Tinker by throwing a bottle during a protest against Underworld's involvement with Nadeem Atallah. Although, Griff later claimed that he hadn't been the one to throw the bottle as such practice would go against what he stood for.
Underworld manager and Peter's wife, Carla, began voicing an unfavourable opinion about Griff and challenged Peter and Toyah's association with him. She was left frustrated when both refused to sever their involvement with Griff, but things changed drastically in October when Peter attended a gig with Griff and Spider and realised that the band were singing racist lyrics. Peter warned Toyah about Griff's racist views and she began to question her own involvement with him, despite Spider's best attempts to defend him in order to protect his operation.
Having learned that Max had recently been kicked out of school and had his place taken by Daryan Zahawi, Griff developed an interest in the schoolboy and was able to gain his trust when he stood up for him against his bullies Blake and Chris. Griff invited Max along to a Halloween fancy dress party at his flat, and Spider grew concerned upon seeing the youngster becoming involved with the group. To further indoctrinate Max, Griff used his friend Reece Bolton's daughter Lauren to seduce him and later sow the seeds of further animosity between Max and Daryan by having Lauren falsely accuse Daryan of making her uncomfortable.
Griff, along with Spider, Reece, and associates Dave Fairchild and Ollie Deacon, all participated on an attack against Daryan.

In May 2024, Griff was transferred to Highfield Prison where Roy Cropper was being held on remand suspected of murdering Lauren following her disappearance in February. On behalf of Reece, Griff orchestrated a plan to get into Roy's cell undetected so that he could either force him to confess to the crime or murder him. In order to do so, Griff threatened to harm Roy's friend Roscoe's granddaughter unless he ensured that Roy left his cell for long enough to allow Griff to gain access. Roscoe reluctantly agreed and lured Roy to the prison library and upon his return Roy was confronted by Griff who subjected him to a lengthy interrogation. Griff was unsatisfied by Roy's refusal to confess to Lauren's murder and initially planned to strangle him with a noose fashioned out of Roy's bedsheets to have it look like a suicide, however, when Roy successfully managed to alert a police officer on patrol, Griff instead revealed a shard of glass and threatened to slash Roy's throat with it.
As a last request, Roy asked to phone his niece Nina Lucas and during the subsequent call she revealed that he was being released as the police had found a new prime suspect in convicted sexual predator Nathan Curtis. The revelation gave Griff enough pause to allow for a riot team to enter the cell and subdue him. After the ordeal Roy was allowed to walk free from prison after the charges against him were dropped.
