The Girl and her boyfriend came across Stan and Hilda Ogden in the waiting room of a railway station in the Peak District on Easter Monday in 1969. The Ogdens had gone hiking there for the day but had sheltered in the station after she had been stung by nettles and were waiting for the train back to Weatherfield. The courting couple explain to them that the station had closed eighteen months before and no trains ran through it now. Asked what they were doing there, the girl explained that it was a quiet place where they weren't bothered in their courting. Stan, having just heard from Hilda about another wartime romance she had enjoyed, was in no mood to hear about matters of love and exclaimed his outrage at what the young couple were up to, before storming out to get home by another means.
