Ginni Barlow (born "Janette Banks Conkie", 1937 in Dumbarton, Scotland; died 22nd February 2022 in Clydebank) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly between February and March 1978 as small claims court clerk Mrs. Taylor; and she made a return to the programme in March 1981 as W.P.I. Walters.
An actress for almost fifty years, she attended the Glasgow School of Art and then transferred to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She worked in the theatre all over Scotland and England and appeared at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London for two years with the Theatre of Comedy.
She appeared in Scottish Television's Garnock Way for its whole run, playing the landlady of the local pub. Her other television credits included roles in Love Story, Crossroads, Emergency-Ward 10, Dr. Finlay's Casebook, The Scobie Man, Sutherland's Law, Tutti Frutti, Casualty, a regular role in the soap Take the High Road as Gladys Aitken/Lachlan from1988 to 1992, along with a role in the 2003 film The Fall of Shug McCracken.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Abigail's Party, Two Into One and It Runs in the Family.
She listed oil painting, walking, singing and listening to classical music amongst her hobbies.
The actress passed away following a long illness, aged 85.
