George Selway (born "Henry George Selway" on 21st February 1924 in St. Marylebone, London; died May 1994 in Camden, London) appeared on Coronation Street in January 1979 as Frank Bebbington, an acquaintance of Fred Gee.
Probably best known for his role of Tom Humphries in the 1970s comedy Beryl's Lot, his numerous on-screen credits spanned over three decades and also included roles in New Ramps for Old, The Spread of the Eagle, Z Cars, A Tale of Two Cities, Serjeant Musgrave's Dance, Doctor Who, And Mother Makes Three, All Creatures Great and Small and The Gentle Touch.
Film roles included The Secret Place, Tiger Bay, I'm All Right Jack, Bottoms Up, In the Doghouse, Sky West and Crooked, The Wrong Box, Maroc 7, The Strange Affair, Three Sisters and Commuter Husbands.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Great Day, The Young Elizabeth, Wild Horses, Murder in the Cathedral, The Shoemaker's Holiday, The Brass Butterfly, Twelfth Night, A Man for All Seasons, Julius Caesar, Richard III, The Tempest, Coriolanus, Three Sisters, Edward II, Perchance to Dream, The Eve of Saint Venus, Spider's Web, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Billy Liar.
