Genevieve Allenbury appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as Irene Muir, one of the panel members at Berkeley International who interviewed Raquel Watts for a modelling job in November 1996; and she returned to the programme in February 2004 as Ann Marie Sharma, the mother of solicitor Maya Sharma.

Her other credits include roles in The New Avengers, Crown Court, Shoestring, Dempsey and Makepeace, Tales of the Unexpected, ChuckleVision, Emmerdale, Doctors, Galavant and the films King David and Christopher Columbus: The Discovery. On stage she has appeared in productions of Toad of Toad Hall, Wilde at Heart, Table Manners and Personal Enemy.
