Garfield Morgan (born 19th April 1931 in Birmingham, died 5th December 2009 in London) appeared on Coronation Street in July 1961 as Newton & Ridley relief manager Vincent Plummer, installed in the Rovers for a fortnight.
A prolific television and film performer over five decades, his other credits include roles in Biggles, Emergency-Ward 10, Ghost Squad, No Hiding Place, Z Cars, The Plane Makers, The Villains, Recap, Softly Softly, The Avengers, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Albert!, Dixon of Dock Green, On the Buses, Crown Court, The Sweeney, Minder, Boon, No Job for a Lady, Doctors, Heartbeat, Bad Girls, Holby City and The Bill.
Film roles include The Intimate Stranger, Two Letter Alibi, On the Run, The Pumpkin Eater, The Man Who Haunted Himself, The Odessa File, Murder Elite and the big-budget 2007 horror movie 28 Weeks Later.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Temple Folly, A Hatful of Rain, Dry Rot, Mr Kettle and Mrs Moon, Brer Rabbit, The Lion in Love, Comings and Goings, Berenice, Ross, Don't Rock the Boat, 84 Charing Cross Road and King Lear.
He married actress Dilys Laye in 1963, who herself appeared in Coronation Street, however the couple subsequently divorced.
