Frank Crompton (born 27th January 1910 in Bury, died 6th July 1989 in Lancaster) appeared on Coronation Street in four roles:
- A commissionaire at the newly-built Brookside Motel in February 1971
- A spectator at a Bessie Street School football match in April 1972
- Alderman Harold Chapman, appearing intermittently between May 1972 and August 1980
- Councillor Tommy Garret in June 1975.
His other credits included roles in Crown Court, Village Hall, Red Letter Day, Yanks Go Home, Devenish, Fallen Hero, I Didn't Know You Cared, Juliet Bravo and Brookside.
On stage, he appeared in productions of The Rivals and The Prince of Homburg at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester.
