Frank Crawshaw (born 4th September 1899 in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, died 2nd April 1984 in Worthing) appeared on Coronation Street in both January 1961 and June 1966 as Arnold Tanner, Elsie's first husband.
He made his television debut in 1947 in You Can't Take It with You broadcast live from Alexandra Palace and went on to also appear in ITV Television Playhouse, Z Cars, Citizen James, Dixon of Dock Green, The Plane Makers, Doctor Who, Emergency-Ward 10, Mrs Thursday, Emmerdale Farm and Hadleigh.
His first film role was in 1936 and he went on to appear in Men of Rochdale, a dramatised documentary celebrating the Co-operative society's centennial anniversary, The Three Weird Sisters, Mr. H.C. Andersen, The Man Outside, Half a Sixpence, Oliver! and Arthur? Arthur!.
His first radio work was almost at the birth of the medium with recitals on the BBC in 1924.
On stage, he appeared in a UK touring production of Matilda Shouted Fire in 1958.
