Frances Tomelty (born 6th October 1948 in Belfast) appeared on Coronation Street between December 1972 and January 1973 as Christine Peters, the young woman who snatched baby Jason Lomax from his pram outside the Rovers.
Her other credits include roles in Harriet's Back in Town, A Place to Hide, Strangers, Testament of Youth, Cracker, Casualty, 99-1, Vanity Fair, Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married, The Amazing Mrs Pritchard, Bonekickers, Silent Witness, Waking the Dead, Holby City, The White Queen, Charlie, Unforgotten, Catastrophe, Apple Tree Yard, Warrior Nun and The Woman in the Wall.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Cromwell, She Stoops to Conquer, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Three Sisters, Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice, Richard III, Across the Roaring Hill, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Christmas Clock, Dancing at Lughnasa, The Maiden Stone and Mutabilitie.
She was married to singer and actor Gordon "Sting" Summers from 1976 to 1984.
