Navid was the somewhat hapless chef at Speed Daal who found himself caught up in a trade war between that establishment and Debbie Webster's Viaduct Bistro.

The Nazir family's eatery was teetering on the edge of insolvency when Alya Nazir fell for an telephone scam which resulted in the bank account being emptied. By stealing from his father-in-law Hashim Elamin, Zeedan found the funds to prop up the business but was concerned that it was relying too much on the takeaway trade that had sustained it during the COVID-19 pandemic. Keen to boost the takeover, he came up with a tasting evening with a menu devised by him and a worrying Navid.

Not knowing who she was, Zeedan made the mistake of letting Debbie know what was going on with enough notice to allow her to come up with a competitive event at the bistro and also made a series of false bookings for Speed Daal to create plenty of empty tables. Moreover, when Zeedan arrived at the bistro to confront her, he recognised his own kakori kebabs on the bar just as Navid emerged from the kitchen when he was supposed to be off work with shingles. Pleading that Debbie was paying him double what Zeedan did, he was sacked on the spot.

Zeedan managed to fight back with a successful food van which he parked right outside the bistro but Alya and Yasmeen Metcalfe recognised that their business couldn't operate successfully without Navid's skills and reinstated him. Faced with far greater troubles from Hashim, Zeedan was sanguine about his chef's return to the fold.

The character was uncredited for all his three appearances with just minor lines of dialogue in his first two episodes.
