Gordon Holness was employed by Audrey Roberts in September 2002 to take a professional photograph of her family. Unknown to her, son-in-law Richard Hillman used the occasion to steal her house keys to obtain copies as part of his plan to murder her for the financial benefit and ward off the impending bankruptcy of his own business. When Richard's murderous dealings were revealed the following year, his widow Gail sadly looked on the finished photograph as a reminder of a time when she had thought that everything was going right in her life.
