Susan Hilton appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- Doris Hutchinson, a friend of Flora McArdle who appeared in May 2018
- An elderly mother whose family caused chaos at Speed Daal in September 2021
- Gregory Pope Foundation's charity shop volunteer, Joy, in September 2022.
She trained at Manchester Polytechnic alongside Victoria Wood and Julie Walters, before embarking on a career in teaching; notably as drama teacher at Lostock School, Stretford. After retiring from the profession she returned to acting and works on stage regularly.
Theatre credits include roles in productions of Who Goes Bare?, Talking Heads, Kindertransport, Calendar Girls, Habeas Corpus, A Christmas Carol and Steel Magnolias while on television she has also appeared in It's a Sin and Brassic. On film, she had a role in Little Star.
