Father Flynn was the parish priest at St. Luke's RC Church in Weatherfield. In June 1988, he conducted the marriage ceremony of Don Brennan and Ivy Tilsley. The ceremony went without a hitch except for Jack Duckworth losing the ring in the lining of his jacket, requiring Ivy to use her late husband Bert's ring as a substitute.
