Eric Lander (born in Rugby on 27th May 1924, died 28th October 1999) first appeared in Coronation Street in June 1968 as Mr Toller and then returned in 1972 and 1974 playing the role of Ron Cooke.
His career is dominated by his role as Detective Inspector Harry Baxter in No Hiding Place and Echo Four Two. His career continued on stage and television screen in programmes like Trial and Sanctuary in which he had recurring roles and in guest appearances in, amongst others, Crown Court and Dixon of Dock Green.
