Plot
Hilda asks Val for £600 for the flight but the Barlows save their money for Ken's flight. Ken thinks it's a waste of money just to see David buried. Dave Smith lends the Ogdens £600 and Hilda flies out to Australia. After she has gone Stan gets a telegram saying that Darren has also died.

This episode features the death of Darren Barlow, the infant son of David and Irma who had never actually been seen in the series, having been born after his parents had emigrated to Australia.
