Plot[]
Part One: Jack isn't totally against moving to Majorca but will only promise to think it over. In front of Hilda and Emily, he and Annie put on a show of extreme domestic discord. Annie asks Emily to get Ernie to develop her holiday snaps but asks her to pass on the message to be discrete with them, making her and Hilda think the very worst. Len is chirpy about the brewery contract. An uncomfortable Lucille tells him not to make too big a thing of it. Ken finds a buyer at the college for Len's van. Douglas arrives at the Rovers with flowers for Annie. Hilda is appalled while an amused Elsie, Maggie and Betty play along with thinking Annie's had an affair. Ray is delighted to hear from Lucille that he has the contract and tells her he's setting up on his own. She's appalled. Hilda rushes to tell Ena about the flowers. She still refuses to let Ernie take her photo. Elsie refuses Lucille's entreaties to inform Len of his business loss. Len celebrates with several bottles in No.9. Lucille breaks the news to him.
Part Two: The next day, Emily tells Jack that Ena is willing to take Annie in if they split up. Len confronts Ray who bitterly throws back in his face the number of times he's kept the yard going while he was absent. Len orders him to move out of No.9. Elsie and Maggie enjoy a shopping spree. Betty tells her Cyril will be at a union meeting so they will be having a quiet night. Annoyed at her constant interference, Maggie tells her sister that she and Elsie are having a night on the town. Douglas tells Jack they have a week to decide. Ena, Emily and Hilda look over the photos and find them innocuous. Annie collects them and asks Ena to come to the Rovers at opening time. Ernie snatches a photo of an annoyed Ena. Having paid his rent until Friday, Ray refuses to leave No.9 until them but, Len threatens him and refuses to give him any future references. Annie asks Ena and Emily to read her letter. They depart for Ena's flat to do so. Annie gleefully wonders if Ena will ever return.
