Plot[]
Part One: It's Easter Monday. Elsie tries to contact Dave who is on a business trip to Doncaster. Ray sees that she seems down. Hilda wants to do something as it's a Bank Holiday and suggests a walk in the Peak District followed by a cream tea. Stan reluctantly agrees. Alerted by Ray, Len calls on Elsie and finds her in a foul mood. Ena, Minnie and Alice buy food in for an Easter tea, avoiding Maggie's questions about joining Albert's coach trip to Bury's Fusiliers' Museum. He can't locate anyone who had bought tickets. Dave returns and goes straight to the bookies where Ted tells him that Elsie has rung him several times. Lucille agrees to go out with Ray for the day. Dave receives a letter which troubles him and tells Ted that he's off out again. Stan and Hilda brave the Rovers in their walking gear before setting out. Ena reveals to Annie that every one of the pensioners are boycotting the trip due to Albert's behaviour towards Alice. Puzzled, he waits alone with the coach driver.
Part Two: Eating lunch at Jackson's Chip Shop, Lucille wonders where Ray is taking her. Gordon tells Maggie that his boss thinks he ought to move to the London head office to get more experience. She hides her dismay at losing him. Len tells a disappointed Albert he's being boycotted. Stan and Hilda shelter in a station after she's stung by nettles. Hilda is disappointed that Stan doesn't remember the two of them visiting the station in 1943. He realises that she's made a mistake and she was in fact there with another soldier. Ena, Minnie and Alice return from a day out to the cinema. Ena challenges Len who tells her the OAP Clubhouse is being replaced by a car park. She thinks the alternative of an old Baptist chapel in Henry Street isn't suitable enough and reveals she's forming a committee to oppose him. Ena tells a furious Albert that the boycott continues until he apologises to Alice. Stan and Hilda find out that the trains no longer stop at the station from a boy and girl courting there. Dave continues to avoid Elsie's calls.

Notes[]
- The scene on the Grape Street set was on film. Careful observation shows the scaffolding above the terraced houses which have no roofs, several people watching the filming from the viaduct, a car parked on Grape Street itself seen through the open gates, and the concrete ramp leading down from the street into the former railway yard.
- Ena Sharples refers to Len Fairclough as "Councillor Fanackerpan". This was a northern colloquialism used at the time that this episode was made which has since fallen into disuse and referred to people, usually children, who dawdled. See also Episode 123 (14th February 1962).
- TV Times synopsis: The good earth for Stan and Hilda, and Dave Smith goes to ground.
- Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast - 5,400,000 homes (9th place - this somewhat low figure in comparison to surrounding episodes is explained by this edition being transmitted on Easter Monday, a public holiday.)
