Plot[]
Part One: The blackout continues. Elsie desperately knocks on the wall with No.9, unaware that Len is in the Rovers. Minnie and Ray go to help Reverend James with Alice. Jack gives Len a drink after hours, delaying his return. When he finally gets home, a terrified Elsie calls out for his help. She thinks her stalker has cut the lights out on her and Len has to explain what's happened. The power is restored as Len calms her down. Ken and Val take a sobbing Alice and her belongings in. They think Albert is callous. Gordon thinks the neighbours are prejudiced against him because of Lucille. Len catches Arthur Green taking notes in the street and discovers that both he knows his name and that he's a private investigator.
Part Two: The next morning, Val visits her uncle to upbraid him for his behaviour and tells him that she won't be bringing him any meals from now onwards. The vicar also calls, and he tells Albert he committed a despicable act and he will end up a lonely old man with no friends. He tempts him to change his mind with the suggestion of running a veteran's corps at the church. Len tries to wind up Dave by saying that Arthur is an income tax inspector, but he and Maggie wonder if Les has employed him. Annie refuses to serve Gordon, sending him instead in Jack's direction. Minnie also snubs him, and he walks out. Albert tells Alice she can move back in, but she breaks the news to him that she's moving in with Minnie. Val helps move Alice's things. Having watched Gordon and Albert, Elsie is depressed at the way that the neighbours treat each other. Gordon's boss summons him for a chat. Ray tells Minnie and Alice that the OAP Clubhouse is being demolished. Maggie is worried that Gordon won't stay around. Len is concerned that she'll go with him. Minnie reports that Ena is determined to prevent the demolition. Arthur rings his client with his report. Albert plans a pensioner's Easter outing to Bury to visit the Fusiliers' Museum. Elsie gets a phone call from a Lillian Smith telling her Dave is married - to her.
