[[Roy Cropper|Roy]] tells [[Hayley Cropper|Hayley]] that he’s investigating on the web other people who have reached her decision in order to understand better where she’s coming from. She tells him it’s a waste of time as no one else is her and therefore can see things from her unique standpoint. [[Tina McIntyre|Tina]] is getting increasingly annoyed with having [[David Platt|David]] as a houseguest and with the lack of contact from [[Tommy Duckworth|Tommy]]. She offers to take [[Simon Barlow|Simon]] to school to take the pressure off a harassed [[Peter Barlow|Peter]] who has to have a fitting for his wedding suit. Roy finds nothing on the web that makes him change his mind. Tina tells David he has no chance of winning [[Kylie Platt|Kylie]] back unless he bucks up his ideas and finds a job. Peter encourages an apprehensive Simon to play with [[Grace Piper|Grace]] and [[Faye Windass|Faye]]. Roy and Hayley attend [[Jane Rayner|Jane]]’s funeral but Hayley is upset at the gap between her and Roy. Grace stirs things up between [[Owen Armstrong|Owen]] and Faye, telling her not to listen to him as he’s just her adoptive mum’s boyfriend. [[Eileen Grimshaw|Eileen]] gets annoyed with [[Todd Grimshaw|Todd]] for failing to get a job. [[Sean Tully|Sean]] suggests to [[Eileen Grimshaw|Eileen]] that she get him a job at the [[Street Cars|cab office]]. Under pressure from Grace, Simon steals chocolate from the [[Corner Shop]] but is spotted by [[Dev Alahan|Dev]]. He gives chase but fails to catch him. At Jane’s wake, Roy and Hayley are distressed to see that her sons are upset over their mother’s confusion in her final days when she was heavily sedated.
