Plot
Kirsty is sat at the bottom of the stairs as Ruby is crying upstairs. Kirsty then makes an appointment with Doctor Carter. Next door, Jason worries about Stella and tells Sean that they have had a falling out. When Jason tells him that they fell out over Karl, Sean tells him to get over himself. Eileen and Paul leave for the funeral. Elsewhere, Beth Tinker is upset that Kirk let her down with a meal last night, but Kirk promises to make it up tonight. Fiz sets off in a taxi for the courthouse. Karl is being made breakfast by Gloria and Eva. Gloria tells Karl that the truth will come out when Sunita when wakes up, Karl wants to come to the hospital too, at this statement. At Roy's Rolls, Sylvia treats herself to another brownie, feeling that they are making her better. Roy then makes her do the washing up. Brian urges Julie not to confront Kirsty, but Julie is undeterred. Sylvia is acting odd while doing the washing up. Roy and Dennis notice this behaviour. Roy is worried, but Dennis teases her. At the doctor's surgery, Kirsty asks Doctor Carter for sleeping pills, Doctor Carter urges her not to have them, so Kirsty storms out. At the courthouse, Tyrone is giving his testimony that Kirsty is the bully and not him. The police come to see Stella about the fire at the Rovers Return and tell her that the arsonist must have had a set of keys. Karl has a clean alibi because he gave his back to Stella when he moved out, Gloria then remembers the spare keys and the police go to check it out. Tyrone is telling the jury about all the past, significant beatings from when she lost her job, to when her father had a row with her, and throwing stuff at him in general. The solicitor produces a doctor's report to the judge. Chesney tells Kirk of his troubles and Kirk agrees to go out with him. Dennis tells Sylvia that the brownies have had cannabis in them and Sylvia fears she may have an addiction. Back at the courthouse Tyrone tells the jury that Kirsty fell over after trying to hit him. At Underworld Kirk tells a distraught Beth that he has plans and can't do the dinner tonight. Julie than gets up to go to Kirsty's house to confront her. Karl goes into Sunita's room at the hospital, cleans his fingerprints off the keys and rubs her fingerprints on it. Julie enters Kirsty's house to confront her about violently assaulting her last night and then believes her to be lying and Kirsty unintentionally lets the truth slip. Kirsty slaps Julie hard across the face. Julie runs out with blood streaming down her face and Ruby wakes up crying. Next door Julie runs in and cries into Sean's chest. Gloria tells the police that she suspects Sunita to be the arsonist. Back at No. 9, Kirsty tries to get Ruby to sleep and yells at her to shut up, repeatedly.
