Frank's on the phone to his jeweller ordering Carla an engagement ring when she walks in the office. Frank pretends he was arranging to meet a client. Frank makes a point of telling Peter and Leanne that Carla's told him everything and that they don't have secrets from one another. Chris makes Cheryl promise that she won't tell anyone about his illness as he couldn't stand the pity. Cheryl wonders how they'll explain why he's moved in. Under pressure from Hayley, Roy agrees to leave Sylvia in charge of the café so they can have a few days off with baby Hope. Becky's upset when she receives her divorce papers on her wedding anniversary. Karl overhears Owen and Dev being less than complimentary about Chris. Karl sticks up for him and tells Owen and Dev about Chris's brain tumour. Carla discovers that Frank wasn't on the phone to a client at all and wonders what he's up to. Maria tells Cheryl that she'd really like to help with Chris but Cheryl makes it clear she's not wanted. Maria's hurt. Owen gives Chris a wad of cash for some work he did. Chris smells a rat and Owen admits he's heard about Chris's brain tumour. Chris feels humiliated. Peter corners Carla and begs her not to tell Frank about their recent kiss. Chris is angry with Lloyd for telling Karl about his condition. Cheryl's disappointed that Lloyd failed to keep it a secret. In the Rovers, Frank goes down on one knee, pulls out a ring and proposes to Carla. She's stunned.
