Plot[]

Part One: Cheryl sees Chris running out of the salon flat, clearly in a state. She goes to check on Maria and finds her upset and crying. Marc's wearing full "Marcia" make-up when Gail knocks on the door. Audrey panics, and in desperation Marc plunges his face into a cream gateau just as Audrey lets Gail in. Marc pretends that he's wearing a face pack and Gail's none the wiser. Helping Maria tidy up, Cheryl gets the story of what happened. Unaware of what she's interrupted, Gail tells Audrey and Marc how David and Kylie are running her business into the ground. Prior to the girls' night out, Amber calls at No.4 with a bottle of vodka. Lloyd isn't entirely happy that Cheryl is getting involved in Chris and Maria's problems. Leanne calls in the Rovers and apologises to Stella for her behaviour. Stella's grateful that Leanne seems to be thawing towards her and talks her into staying for a drink. Sophie, Sian and Amber down glasses of vodka before their night out. Amber and Sian get on well and Sophie feels left out. Cheryl confronts Chris about trashing Maria's flat and scaring her half to death. Chris breaks down and tells her that he's dying.

Part Two: Cheryl takes Chris into No.13 where he tells her he's been having blackouts and the doctors have scanned him for a brain tumour. Gail starts as a waitress at the bistro where Gazette food critic Greg is dining. She starts to creep round him. Audrey tells Marc she wants Gail to find about Marcia on her own terms. Cheryl encourages Chris to be honest with Maria. Gail loses a false nail in Greg's meal. He discovers the item in his food and walks out. Nick sacks his mother and tells her that he's demoting her back to cleaner. He gives the waitress job to Eva instead. Stella tells Leanne about the memories she has of her as a baby. Maria reluctantly lets Chris into the flat where he tries to apologise but she's hostile towards him. Leanne agrees to see Stella again tomorrow. Maria tells Chris that it's over and she wants him to leave. Distraught, he tells her he might be dying of a brain tumour and slams out of the flat. Maria's shocked to the core.
