Plot[]
Part One: Fiz comes round in hospital. The doctor tells Chesney and Maria that she had a lucky escape with only concussion and bruised ribs, however Fiz can only think about finding baby Hope. A brooding Becky's determined to find out who shopped them to social services, making Steve nervous. DS Redfern asks Fiz about any ideas where John could have gone. Ken advises Tracy to keep a low profile and away from Becky. Fiz is dozing when to her horror she sees John at the foot of her bed clutching baby Hope and masquerading as a doctor in a white coat. Fiz humours him while he tells her that he has a plan to extracate them from the mess. Followed by a begging Steve, Becky bursts into the salon and accuses Kylie who stops her in her tracks by telling her she wouldn't put a dog in care. It's clear that John's mad as he rambles on about how he only killed people to protect his family. Fiz manages to secretly push her panic button.
Part Two: John is about to pass Hope to Fiz when a nurse arrives and John realises that Fiz has betrayed him. Clutching baby Hope, John legs it through the hospital with security called. Becky accuses Dev but finally concludes it must have been Tracy when she walks into the pub. She denies it, but Becky is in a fury that cannot be controlled. Tracy leaves quickly. The police search the hospital. Tracy barricades herself into No.1 to protect herself from unhinged Becky who grabs a sledgehammer from Owen's van and smashes the front door. John escapes onto the roof of the hospital still cradling baby Hope. David takes footage as Becky breaks the door open and starts smashing up the Barlows' house, threatening Tracy with the sledgehammer as an appalled Ken and Deirdre watch on. Realising he has no choice, Steve screams at Becky that it was him who phoned social services. Becky's stunned and leaves. The police and Fiz watch in horror as John teeters on the edge of the hospital roof. Suddenly he hands the baby over to Fiz and jumps off the roof. Steve desperately tries to explain to Becky his motives for coming clean to social services but she's in no mood to listen as she packs her bags and spits in his face. As Fiz cradles baby Hope, Redfern informs her that there's no sign of John's body - he's vanished into thin air.
