Plot[]
Part One: Chris and Kirk can't understand why Maria has left Underworld. Chris tries to be romantic with her but she's not forthcoming. Carla announces Maria's resignation to the puzzled staff. Frank wins round the girls with charm and the promise of cakes. It's the day of Kevin and Sally's hearing. Rosie offers to babysit Jack for Kevin when he tells her that Sunita's dropped out. Chris grows concerned about the distance forming between him and Maria and asks Cheryl if she has said anything to her. Anna is still frosty with Eddie because of his lack of commitment to Faye. Eddie is concerned about his job security, but Anna is unsympathetic. Chesney is worried when Katy's morning sickness kicks in. Carla wants to talk things through with Maria and begs for a chat in the cafe. John feels wiped out. Sean tries to listen in on Maria and Carla's heated conversation. Sylvia turns up to see Roy but he all but ignores her. Maria storms out and bumps into Frank who attempts to explain, but Carla quickly leads him away. Chris startles Maria as she enters her flat and he's at a loss to understand her angry reaction towards him.
Part Two: The cafe has a queue of customers and Sylvia takes charge. A saddened Sally berates Kevin for the way he's behaved towards her as they go into court. Eddie drops the bombshell on Anna that he's been offered a job with Len in Königsberg in Germany. Hayley finds that Roy is doing everything he can to avoid talking to his mother even though they're working together. She forces them to converse. Roy is moved when Sylvia hands over his first boyhood train set and hears that she's moved into an assisted living place. Chris comes clean about his past with Cheryl to Maria. She assures him that none of her problems are about him and begins to explain about Frank. Fiz is worried when John gets a doctor's appointment to see if he can come off his medication. She does her best to hide phone calls from Joy Fishwick's solicitor from him. Katy hides her pregnancy from Izzy. Having heard everything about Frank, a furious Chris storms out of the flat. Kevin's lawyer brings up Sally's affair with Ian Davenport. Sally is left fuming. Chris enters Underworld and confronts a frightened Frank.
