Plot[]
Part One: Liz tells Steve and Becky that she's returned as she was missing her family. Kevin and Sally assure Sophie that things are going to be different from now on. Chesney agrees with Katy's plan to rent a flat and try for a baby. Steve can't find the right moment to tell Liz about her granddaughter's new living arrangements. The pastor visits Sophie and invites her and Sian to rejoin the choir and work things out. Calling at The Kabin for cigarettes, Liz bumps into Emily who's minding Amy. Liz scoops the child up and takes her back to the Rovers before Emily can say anything. Katy's thrilled and she and Chesney declare their love for each other. Marc tells Claudia and Audrey that the other woman is his sister. Emily tells Tracy that Liz has taken Amy back. She marches round to the Rovers and enjoys telling a shocked Liz that she's out of prison and Amy now lives with her. Liz demands to know what's going.
Part Two: Steve and Becky tell Liz about Tracy's release. She insists that they fight for Amy to be returned but Steve and Becky are evasive about the background to them losing the child. Back home, Kevin is delighted when Sally leads him to believe that they have a chance to start again. Claudia's disbelieving and tells Marc it's over between them. He leaves, crestfallen. Graeme puts a Christmas tree up, planning to get Emily and Norris unwittingly involved in photos that they can use to hoodwink the authorities. He and Xin tell their visitors that it's the closest decorations they could get to mark Chinese New Year. Sally continues to thaw towards Kevin and lets him stay for his tea and celebrate Sophie's recovery. Over their meal, Norris asks awkward questions about his hosts' relationship, but Graeme manages to head them off. Sally asks Kevin if he'd like to stay for a nightcap. Emily's very taken with Xin. Graeme sets the camera and takes a picture of them all with the tree in the background. Kevin misreads the situation and tries to kiss Sally. She's furious and accuses him of using Sophie's situation to try and wheedle his way back in and tells him to leave.
