Plot[]
Part One: A panicking Becky and Steve rush to the back room where she tells him that she'll have to come clean if the police connect him to the Alahans through forensics. Owen informs DC Tyler how Eileen swindled £10,000 from him, passes him documentary proof and tells her where she can be found. Carla can't get the paperwork in her office straight. Becky blames Steve and fears Max will be taken into care because of his actions. She aghast to discover that Lloyd knows. Sunita urges Dev not to contact the police by pointing out that the money would be seized as evidence. She convinces him to pay Owen to finish work on the corner shop. Eileen's sickened when the police turn up at Underworld. Steve tells Lloyd that Dev's going to the police. Lloyd's unsympathetic and orders Steve to get out of his sight. He's dejected. Everyone's shocked when Eileen's arrested on suspicion of fraud. Sean accompanies her to the police station. As Dev and Sunita hand Owen his cash to restart the work on the shop, he's delighted to see Eileen being led away.
Part Two: Hearing that she's walked out of the salon, Carla offers Maria a job as PA at Underworld. Eileen's questioning begins. Maria has reservations about her abilities and asks for time to consider. Julie tells Jason about Eileen's arrest and makes it clear that Owen is to blame. Ashamed Eileen confesses to the fraud to her solicitor but points out that she did repay the money. She's advised to plead guilty for maximum leniency but there is a risk she could go to prison. Steve feels he must stop Dev from going to the police. Becky thinks they should flee. Maria accepts the job. Julie feels put out, as she was hoping for the position herself, but Carla easily sweet-talks her. Jason goes to the station and finds out from Sean what's happened. Eileen makes a full confession. Eileen's solicitor pleads for leniency. The corner shop frontage and its new sign - D&S Alahan's - is completed. Steve approaches them asks for a word with them at No.7. Maria tells Audrey about her new job. They part on good terms. Eileen is cautioned and released. She tells Jason that Owen's to blame. Steve says he was the one who looted the Alahans' shop and returned the cash anonymously. Dev and Sunita are astonished. Steve pleads for forgiveness, but they are disgusted by his betrayal. Dev vows to notify the police.
