Plot[]
Part One: Leanne has spent a fitful night on Janice's sofa. Simon's in a foul mood as Peter informs him that Leanne has gone for good and from now it's just the two of them. At No.8, Nick is in equally as bad a mood with Gail. Sophie receives bad news via the post. Sally tells her that she's cooling things with Jeff in order to restore some stability at home. Sophie feels guilty. Carla arranges another meeting with Frank. Peter leaves Simon with Ken and Deirdre and is curt with their questions. He orders them not to let Leanne see Simon. Sophie confides in Sunita that she's been expelled from college. Sunita advises her to be honest with Sally. Claudia visits and confides in Audrey and Rita that Marc is showing no interest in the bedroom department. Rita thinks he may have the hots for another. Audrey's shifty. Sophie breaks the news to a shocked Sally. Peter follows Nick into The Joinery building site and locks the door, declaring that they need to talk.
Part Two: Sophie's relieved when Sally's sympathetic and pledges to help sort her problems. Nick's unnerved by Peter's menacing demeanour and threatens to call the police but Peter picks up a crowbar and threatens him with it. Nick's unnerved as deranged Peter forces him to drink whisky. Leanne calls at No.1 concerned about Simon but Ken and Deirdre obey Peter's instructions and refuse to let her see him. Nick bites back at Peter, telling him how deeply Leanne feels for him due to their long history. Peter is stung by his words and a smiling Nick passes him the whiskey. Peter throws it at him as the first tram goes over the rebuilt viaduct above them. Peter threatens to kill Nick. Leanne tells an alarmed Janice that there's nothing left for her in Weatherfield and she's going to live with Toyah in London. Nick makes a break for it but Peter shoves him to the ground and pins him down. Nick cowers as Peter smashes the crowbar down next to him. Peter tells Nick he's sparing him because Nick saved his life but warns him he won't hesitate to kill him if he crosses him in the future. Nick's petrified.
