Plot[]
Part One: Albert admits to P.C. Conway that his back door was on the latch. As Emily passes No.1, she's livid to overhear him telling the constable that Miklos stole the coins. She gets equally angry with Irma when she makes fun of Albert's allegation and points out that Miklos did go missing at the time of the theft. David gets annoyed with his wife gossiping about Emily and Miklos and tells her that he likes the idea of living somewhere where he doesn't know anyone. Although an unkempt Elsie doesn't want to see anyone, she makes a happy exception when Jack comes calling on her. He advises her to put on her warpaint and brave the Rovers. Len isn't all pleased when George Dickinson calls at the yard looking for Jerry and tells him to leave. Annie and Ken argue about students and she asks him if he has ever taken drugs himself. He points out that the students raised over £20,000 in the rag week. Len asks Annie to warn Jerry to go straight home if he should come into the pub. After knocking at No.1, Miklos calls in the Rovers when Albert is waiting for him.
Part Two: Emily wonders where Miklos has gone and Elsie advises her not to chase after unreliable men. Elsie braves the Rovers to a warm welcome. In front of the customers, Albert accuses Miklos of theft. Miklos loses his temper with Albert, refusing to tell the old man where he spent the day. Emily steps in and announces in front of everyone that Miklos spent the day with her. By themselves, he tells Emily he was actually visiting a refugee friend from the 1956 uprising who is recovering in a Rochdale hospital after being knocked down yesterday. Ken passes on the warning to Jerry. The residents make fun of a piece of abstract art that Tim Jordan gave Lucille to sell in the Rovers. P.C. Conway tells Albert that they've caught the thief trying to sell the coins and he's a casual worker from the building site. George catches up with Jerry. He tells him that Myra acted without his knowledge or approval and his daughter has no job or friends, and now she only has him. After Len leaves her alone for the night, Elsie breaks down.
