Plot[]
Part One: Dr Carter visits Peter following his fall. Leanne's stressed as Peter won't co-operate, tired of the pain and his enforced disability. It's Claire's 30th birthday, but she feels it's wrong to celebrate. Graeme comes to take photos of her, Joshua and Freddie to use on fake passports so they can go to France. Claire's still not sure she should abscond. Peter is given stronger painkillers. He refuses Ken's offer that he returns to No.1. Short of money, Fiz suggests they sell their car. Steve wavers about the wisdom of Claire absconding. Chris and Maria arrange another date. Audrey warns Maria not to forget about his past. Nick's curiosity is aroused when he spies Carla and Leanne rowing about Peter in the street after Carla asks after him. A grateful John refuses Chesney's offer of extra cash. Nick tackles Carla as to why she and Leanne are at loggerheads. Graeme supplies Claire with the passports that a criminal forger friend of his has made. Graeme urges her to run away for the boys' sakes.
Part Two: Provoked by Nick, Carla admits she and Peter grew close but there was no affair. Nick realises that on the night of the hen do, she was trying to push him in Leanne's way and is intrigued by all this new information. Leanne is angry when Nick tells her that she's in a relationship with an alcoholic philanderer. Claire decides she will leave but exasperates Becky and Graeme by saying she will remain one more night to celebrate her birthday with her friends. Chris and Maria join Lloyd and Cheryl for a drink in the Rovers before a date in town, but Chris is annoyed that he can't see Russ at the weekend and they quickly start arguing. He contacts his mate Billy and asks him to call on him. Nick calls on Peter at his flat in the hope of learning the truth about Carla. Peter spots he's brought a bottle of wine and suggests they crack it open. Chris orders Billy to tail Lloyd when he finds out that he's supposedly doing an airport run. Claire's escape plan is thwarted when the police turn up outside the pub. Graeme spots them. A frantic Claire's sure they are going to arrest her. Nick pours Peter a glass and hands it over to him.
