Plot[]
Part One: Peter and Leanne move back into their flat. Peter's determined to be back on his feet soon, but Leanne wants him to rest. Claire hands her passport to the police. DC Moore is sceptical about her remorse. Leanne is short with Nick as she checks over the figures at the bookies. John is quiet while Fiz is on cloud nine about Hope's progress. He suddenly remembers he didn't clear away the dishes from the meal he had with Joy. Having been rung by the police, Deirdre tells Ken about Claire's confession. Claire's embarrassed when Deirdre goes for her in the Rovers while the regulars enthusiastically support her for taking on Tracy. Nick refuses John more time off. Leanne's angry to find Peter behind the counter at the bookies, having summoned Nick to fetch him. They argue in front of the customers. Having had enough, Peter decides to return to the flat. Tracy confirms to the police that it was Claire not Becky who attacked her, and wants the book thrown at her. The police tell her that her unreliability has made a conviction a lot harder. Peter and Leanne continue to have a huge row. Terrified of being permanently disabled, he yells at her to get out of his life.
Part Two: Jason teases Chris about his fledgling romance with Maria. Nick tries to comfort a broken-hearted Leanne, but she pushes him away. Gail and David ply Claire with drinks. She's not happy when everyone toasts her. She's relieved to hear Becky's off the hook with the police but fears for herself. After work, John goes to Joy's house where he's soon spotted by her neighbour. Peter falls over in the kitchen. Leanne finds him and they make up as he cries. Having seen Maria at the bar with Chris, Cheryl assures Maria that she doesn't mind her seeing him, saying she seems to be good for him. John pretends to be a delivery man. When Joy doesn't respond, her neighbour forces his way inside and finds her body. He phones the police while John swiftly clears away the evidence of his part in the meal while he's not looking. Becky, Steve and Graeme tell Claire that her only hope of escaping prison is to go on the run. Claire can't believe what she's hearing. John beats a hasty retreat before the emergency services arrive.
