Plot[]
Part One: Joy cannot believe her ears as John gives her the full truth of how Colin dropped dead in front of him. Not sure how to react, Becky's astonished by Claire's confession how Tracy stumbled backwards after she pushed her as they argued. They realise that Tracy must know the full truth and has used to incident to get back at Becky. Claire wants to notify the police, but Becky warns they won't be lenient due to her grief and the boys could lose their mother too. John also admits to killing Charlotte before telling her that they buried Colin under the factory floor. Joy's angina flares up as she gets distressed. Peter is short with all the family. Roy has no jobs available for Cheryl. Chris and Maria have enjoyed their date, even though they could only walk on the Red Rec. John's horrified when Joy's neighbour calls round and he covers Joy's mouth to silence her as he knocks at the door. Becky tells Steve that Claire clobbered Tracy. Steve's outraged but Becky makes him see that Tracy's done herself no favours by lying to the police as it could backfire in her face to their advantage. John releases Joy but discovers that she is not breathing. He's mortified to realise that he has killed again.
Part Two: Leanne admits to Janice that Peter was a nightmare during their holiday, insulting all and sundry for treating him like an invalid. Fiz rings John to come to the hospital for the baby holding. He cleans his prints off her angina spray and leaves Joy's house, but has forgotten to put away two of the dishes. Steve and Becky find that Claire is missing. They realise where she's gone. Peter refuses to leave the house to go for a drink with Ciaran. Claire hands herself in at the police station. Peter's sick of being fussed over at No.1. He loses his rag and declares that he, Leanne and Simon are returning home to the flat in the morning. Maria heads home while Chris buys Lloyd a drink. He starts to see Chris in a different light. Steve and Becky arrive to stop Claire but are too late. They settle down to wait for her. Claire tells DC Redfern what happened with Tracy. John and Chesney join Fiz at the hospital where they are allowed to hold Hope for the first time. John's overcome with mixed emotions.
