Plot[]
Part One: Fiz and John are delighted that Hope has gained so much strength and weight. John ignores calls from Joy. Claire questions Steve about Becky's conditions in her cell. At the station, she is released by DC Redfern, pending further enquiries. Tyrone and Sally are agreeing that they'll always be friends, but nothing else, when Tyrone spots a man arriving to erect a "For Sale" sign in No.4's garden. John calls on Joy with some groceries. She thinks he's an angel. Sally dashes over and rips the board out of the ground after an argument between her and Kevin. Joy doesn't think Colin is in Canada as her neighbour has pointed out his phone has a UK dialling tone. Becky arrives back at the Rovers. Steve and Claire are delighted to see her but Becky points out she's not out of the woods yet unless Tracy decides to tell the truth. Chris cashes in his New Year's Eve raffle prize and has Lloyd as his chauffeur for the day to take Maria out. Despite his reservations, Lloyd wears a chauffeur's hat, but the limo has a burst tyre. Fiz is thrilled when Doctor Chadderton tells her that she can hold the baby for the first time later today.
Part Two: Kevin and Sally row over their infidelities. Kevin points out he turned a blind eye to her affair with Ian Davenport. Sally refuses to admit to the affair. Fiz rings John with the news while he is presenting Joy with a meal. Peter and Leanne arrive back from their short hotel break. Leanne is nervous when Nick greets them. Maria gets quietly drunk on champagne whilst Lloyd and Chris fix the tyre. While John boils a kettle, Joy phones his phone thinking that she's calling Colin. Without thinking John answers it and Joy looks at him in surprise. Deirdre breaks the news to Peter and Leanne about Tracy. He's annoyed that this is the first he's heard about it and thinks they're treating him like an invalid. Thinking badly on his feet, John tells Joy that Colin is back in the country and is planning to see her. A tipsy Maria returns to work rather than wait in the limo, exasperating Audrey. The tyre is finally fixed. Claire shocks Becky by admitting that it was she who attacked Tracy. As Joy laments the loss of contact with her son, she guesses that John's withholding something from her. John cautiously admits that Colin is dead.
