Plot[]
Part One: John pretends that he's still planning to visit Colin and warn him off. He puts Fiz off joining him. Leanne tells Carla that she's finished with Nick and intends to concentrate on her wedding to Peter. Carl hides her disappointment. She goes into The Joinery where Nick tells her how much he loves her and begs her not to marry the wrong man. Leanne struggles to remain steadfast. Carla's in a foul mood at the factory and is unpleasant to Izzy. Struggling, Carla rings Peter and arranges to meet him at her flat later. Michelle challenges Carla's behaviour when she has another go at Izzy but is swiftly put in her place. Sally's taken aback when Tyrone thanks her for the £100 that Kevin gave to baby Jack. Becky's full of ideas for a Christmas holiday in Lapland with Max but Steve points out their lack of funds. Michelle drives Carla home, puzzled as to why she's the one behind the wheel. John arrives at Charlotte's house, where she's cooked a meal. Charlotte enjoys herself calling him "Colin". As Michelle prepares to drive away after dropping Carla off, she spots Peter arriving.
Part Two: Over dinner, Charlotte boasts how she destroyed a pupil's university chances. John can't believe her sanity. Michelle returns to Carla's flat to confront her and Peter. Carla's forced to explain about her drink problem and driving ban, and how Peter was just helping her with alcohol problem. Michelle's sympathetic and they hug. Leanne gives in to Nick and kisses him again. Peter tells Carla that she needs her own friends now and must stop relying on him. Carla's gutted. John tries to leave Charlotte's house. He reiterates that he won't have an affair, but Charlotte refuses to be spurned. John loses patience and slams her against the wall. Charlotte's exhilarated by his firmness and anticipates their next meeting. John leaves. Kevin's under fire from Molly for his generous gift to Jack, while Sally's displeased that he didn't tell her about it. David returns from court cleared. Graeme's pleased and has a drink with him but Tina's fuming. John arrives home and tells Fiz that Colin's sorry for hounding them and has decided to go back to Canada after John offered to buy his ticket. Fiz is relieved but declares they must inform Colin's mum that he's safe. John's alarmed.
