Plot[]
Part One: Molly makes Kevin promise to try and forget that baby Jack is his son and avoid any devastation in their lives. He immediately cheers up when Tyrone and Sally come back into the room from seeing the baby. Peter takes Carla back to her flat and demands to know why she fell off the wagon. Leanne is annoyed the Peter went off without saying anything and jealous when she hears Nick talking about Maria. John convinces Fiz that the mystery letter was just from some crank referring to the Rosie kidnap case and nothing to do with his false identity. He pockets it. The party over, Nick and Leanne open the champagne. Carla tells Peter that she was sending out a mayday when she spoke to him earlier in the evening and admits that she's in love with him. He's taken aback. Buoyed up on the success of the evening, Nick and Leanne kiss passionately.
Part Two: Peter tells Carla that he's flattered and, gorgeous though she is and tempted as he is, he loves Leanne. She tries to kiss him, but Peter pulls away. She's mortified and tells him to go home. Rosie goes back to The Joinery and bangs on the door. Leanne answers and Rosie tells them she's come for her phone which she left behind earlier. Leanne is awash with self-loathing having just had sex with Nick. Pam calls round at No.9 late. Her upset niece pours her heart out to her, telling her how the DNA test has confirmed that Kevin's the father of the baby and how much she hates herself, especially since Jack found out before he died. Peter tries to convince Carla they can still be friends who help each other but she knows that the genie has been let out of the bottle. Nick tries to make Leanne see they should be together but her earlier lust for him fast turns to distress and hatred at the thought of losing Peter and Simon. She rushes home, desperate to avoid Nick. He runs after her, declaring his love, and receives a slap across his face. Another letter is pushed through the letterbox at No.5. It is from Charlotte. Molly assures Pam that she loves Tyrone. Pam tells her to ring her whenever she has the urge to confess to her husband. Leanne lies in bed next to Peter and cries, hating herself for what she's done.
