Plot[]
Part One: Steve's utterly appalled at Kylie trying to sell Max. He makes it clear to her that he won't even consider it but Becky's clearly taken by the idea. Panicked Claire prepares to take Freddie to hospital. Eileen agrees to look after Joshua and take him trick-or-treating. Becky's furious with Steve for rejecting Kylie's suggestion out of hand. Ashley finally admits that the pills were only indigestion tablets as he hasn't suffered an angina attack. Claire's too concerned about Freddie taking the pills to fully react and dashes off to the hospital. Michelle's bemused as John continues to brood over the note attached to the wreath. She tells Ciaran that he needs to tell Liz he's leaving soon. Steve prevents Becky from going to visit Max. Ashley frets about Claire. Becky starts to smash up the back room. Steve's stunned when she declares that they come from two different worlds, and they are over.
Part Two: Fiz is delighted when she feels the baby move. John sneaks out to the pub's yard. Becky makes Steve realise how much she needs a child in her life that she can give the sort of upbringing to that she wishes she'd had. He tells her they will buy Max from Kylie. John retrieves the note from the wreath in the Rovers' dustbin. It reads "No resting place for a scholar", confirming is to do with Colin's death. Steve and Becky call on Kylie and Max but only find Dimitri there. Still thinking that Norris needs a holiday, Mary looks over a brochure for "Tatlock Towers". Peter and Leanne find out that Ciaran is scared to hand in his notice to Liz. John's in a state about the note which he rips up and throws into his own bin. He gets a nasty shock when he comes face to face with the "Grim Reaper" in the ginnel but it's Eileen and Joshua in fancy dress. Becky starts to suspect that Kylie has already flown abroad with Max when the two arrive back at their digs, saying that their flight is in three hours. Claire's back from the hospital and Freddie's fine. Ashley apologises for lying but she concedes she forced him into it and understands he can't leave Weatherfield. She calmly informs him therefore she and the boys will move to France without him. Steve and Becky tell Kylie that she will have to wait a week for the money. She gives them until Monday or she's taking Max abroad.
