Plot[]
Part One: John tries to claim that "John" is a nickname and then lies to Brian that he witnessed a murder. Tina isn't pleased to see Graeme drinking with David. John tells Brian that in order to protect his identity from a gangster searching for him, he calls himself "John Stape". Brian promises his secret is safe with him. Back from the lap dancing club, Tyrone tries to sneak back into No.9 to change into his overalls. Molly makes him string along his lies before pulling open his overalls to reveal his shirt and tie. Fiz is horrified to find Brian at No.5 and even more so to hear that John has told him "everything". Having heard the truth, Molly's furious with Jack and Tyrone for sneaking off to the club. Katy's thrilled when Chesney gives her a watch as a present. Graeme questions Tina as to why she hates David but doesn't get an answer. Fiz is astonished that John's fed Brian yet another pack of lies. Brian leaves and Fiz turns on John.
Part Two: Graeme confides in David that he thinks Tina's having second thoughts about moving in with him. Chesney calls at Katy's flat but it is Owen who answers the door. He grabs Chesney by the throat and warns him that he'd better not hurt Katy. Julie drops her shopping bag as she gets off the bus and Brian helps her pick everything up. There's an instant frisson between them especially when they discover they share a love of Neil Diamond. A tearful Fiz is livid with John, viewing Brian as another threat to their happiness. Being nagged for his behaviour, Tyrone let's slip to Molly that Jack's days are numbered. John and Fiz are flabbergasted to see Brian and Julie enjoying a drink together. Molly's devastated by the news of Jack's cancer. He comes in and Molly hugs him. Tyrone apologises for breaking his promise. John and Fiz push themselves in on Brian and Julie and do their best to put them off each other. Jack's understanding but insists Tyrone and Molly mustn't tell anyone else, and he wants them to be cheerful around him. Worried that he'll end up back in prison if the truth ever comes out, John tells Fiz they have to break up Brian and Julie.
