Plot[]
Part One: Chesney is on a high as he prepares to take possession of his van, even though he can't drive it for another year. John has hardly slept and Fiz still thinks he's keeping something from her. Cheryl prepares for her first day at work, constantly worried about Chris's presence. In the cafe, John slips Hayley's factory keys back into her bag. She's none the wiser. Sophie and Sian make preparations for the festival behind Kevin and Sally's backs. Lloyd introduces himself to Owen and tells him that Chris is a wife beater hoping Owen will fire him. Chris overhears him and the two men square up to one another. Owen doesn't know who to believe. John checks into the Deneway Guest House. Lewis and Audrey arrive back from Greece, having found a suitable hotel. Gail's deeply concerned. John lets himself into Colin's room using the key he found on the body. He rings Charlotte and tells her that he's had an idea. Owen reports to Carla that his work on the factory will be over in a week. Fiz finds out from her how she found John sniffing round the factory.
Part Two: Lloyd finds Chris talking to Cheryl in the kebab shop. Chris is all reasonable, apologising to Lloyd for their earlier misunderstanding. Chesney gets a distracted Fiz to agree that he can register the van in her name. She's worried where John has got to. Charlotte arrives at the guest house and John tells her they're going to remove all Colin's worldly possessions and burn them. Sophie and Sian set off for, keeping up the pretence that they're going to Sian's mum's house in Southport. They let Chesney in on their secret. Lewis suggests that Audrey takes out a secured loan against her house so they can put down a deposit on the hotel. Cheryl is giving Lloyd the silent treatment for winding up Chris. As night falls, John and an on-edge Charlotte burn Colin's possessions in some woods. She realises that John is planning to go back teaching. Gail isn't pleased to hear about the £100,000 secured loan. Lloyd apologises to Cheryl and promises he's there forever for her. She silences him with a passionate kiss. John tries to drop Charlotte off at her house but she insists he stays with her, telling him that her nerves are shredded. Meanwhile Fiz is beside herself wondering where on earth he is.
