Plot[]
Part One: Sophie warns Sian that Ryan won't keep their secret for long, just before he snubs them in the street. Audrey feels foolish for asking Lewis to move in. He tells her he's glad she asked, although they shouldn't rush into anything. Behind her back, he gives a sigh of relief. John gets a call from Charlotte and arranges to meet her later. Fiz orders him to write a letter of resignation to the school. Sophie wants to tell her parents before they find out but Sian's scared of taking such a big step. Michelle tells Sian that her son is genuinely interested in her, proving to her that Ryan hasn't said anything. Audrey tells Rita about Greece and is warned that running a hotel is hard work. A disgruntled Natasha takes a call from Maria who's planning to attend Audrey's party. Audrey slaps down her questions about retirement. Ryan's offhand with Sian, accusing her of laughing at him behind his back. Sian assures him that it had nothing to do with him. Seeing her tearful distress, Ryan promises not to breathe a word about her and Sophie. Lewis tells Deirdre of his doubts about moving in with Audrey although he admits that he's wondering if the time has come to settle down. Charlotte meets John at No.5 and tells him not to post his resignation letter. She says he enjoys the danger and orders him to go upstairs with her.
Part Two: John puts up excuses. Instead, Charlotte orders him to visit her at home next week instead. Eileen kicks off when Anna fails to serve her in the cafe. Deirdre takes her home to let her pour out her troubles to her. Unable to post his letter, John rips it up. Sian tells Sophie about Ryan's promise. She's tired of the pretending. Cheryl returns home early and tells Lloyd that she's quit her job at the club. John tells Fiz he posted the letter. Eileen tells a sympathetic Deirdre that she's fed up with her life, is approaching fifty fast, and being taken for granted by everybody. Lloyd offers to enquire after any vacancies at the salon for Cheryl. Lewis calls on Audrey and is stunned when she suggests they look for a hotel to buy in Greece.
