Plot[]
Part One: Janice, Julie, Fiz, Izzy and Hayley are gutted to learn that they're out of work. Nick assures them he did everything he could and loses his temper when Janice hints that he's not tried enough. Roy prepares Flemish stew as romantic meal for Hayley to remind them of their time in Amsterdam. Anna gives him tips for smoochy music to play. Tina refuses Joe's things as it feels wrong to pick over his stuff. She tells Gail about a dinosaur watch which she bought for her dad when she was a little girl. Peter grows suspicious of Leanne's motives when she wants to help Nick, saying renting out Turners Joinery means bringing George back into their lives. Lewis finds Audrey outside the salon. She tells him she feels like cheap client being with him. Finding Hayley still in the Rovers, Anna tries to hurry her up home. Roy starts to fret when she's late back. Nick calls on Carla to beg her to help him save their business but, after asking what happened to the missing safe money, she's adamant she no longer cares about Underworld. Roy turns up at the Rovers looking for Hayley. Anna wonders where she's got to. Leanne finds Nick alone in the burnt out factory, dismayed that his chances in life, and those of others, are disappearing before his eyes. Reaching a decision, Leanne phones George.
Part Two: Roy and Anna search for Hayley. Gail tells Lewis he'll find Audrey in No.8. Chesney tells John and Fiz he no longer needs to borrow any money from them for his school trip. Fiz is bemused. Lewis tells Audrey he's quit his job as she's too important to him. Instead, he's going to be hosting at a casino. She softens towards him. Gail gives Tina the dinosaur watch which she found in No.8. Tina's touched and finally relents, telling Gail she knows she didn't kill her dad. Hayley eventually arrives home, having been looking for Nick to try and talk about her job, but Roy's meal is ruined and Hayley is alarmed when the burning food sets off the smoke alarm. Leanne arranges for Nick to rent the Joinery from him. Nick's grateful to her and they agree to put their past behind them. George wants £3,000 up front and Nick promises he'll raise the cash. Roy gets down on one knee and proposes to Hayley. She's thrilled and tearfully accepts. Janice is hurt when Carla and Trevor leave for South Africa for two weeks. Leanne tells Nick to deal with George direct as she wants no contact and she'll handle Peter.
