Plot[]
Part One: The former Underworld workers survey the wreckage of their erstwhile workplace. Carla is unconscious in hospital. Maria clings to Liam following a sleepless night. The workers wonder whether Tony is definitely dead. Hayley tries to put yesterday's events out of her mind but she's still very shaken. Lyn wishes Gail luck as she prepares to leave for court to learn her fate. Nick and the factory girls watch as the forensics officers remove the remains of two bodies from Underworld. Nick can give them no assurances about their jobs. Tina's determined to see Gail found guilty as she sets off for court with Jason. The Platts also set off. Carla awakes up and finds Trevor at her side. He tells her she's had some smoke inhalation, bruised ribs and a sprained ankle. She's incensed when Nick rings wanting to discuss factory business. Mr Hughes is hopeful but Gail thinks she's being sent down.
Part Two: Carla is staggered to be told the police are investigating her for shooting Tony but Trevor assures her that they're just following procedure. She is discharged. Chesney's alarmed when Fiz offers to tidy his room. Nick is desperate for Carla to go ahead with the meeting with Paul Stokes. Tina can't understand the jury's delay. As she prepares to return temporarily to Ireland, Maria tells Kirk she's arranged for him to move into the salon flat. Gary buys Izzy a drink. There is a definite spark between them but she is less than pleased when a middle-aged man tracks her down in the pub. Mary bets Norris £5 that Gail will be found guilty. The Platts snub Ken and Deirdre when they wish them well. The jury returns. Carla and Maria agree to move on from the trauma caused by Tony. Carla offers to move away. Maria refuses to forgive her but agrees not to bear a grudge. Ken and Deirdre fear they will be ostracised whatever the result of the trial. Tina and the Platts are on tenterhooks as the jury is asked for their verdict.
